چکیده
Abstract Background MRI provides several distinct quantitative parameters that may better differentiate renal cell carcinoma (RCC) subtypes. The purpose of the study is to evaluate diagnostic accuracy apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC), chemical shift signal intensity index (SII), and contrast enhancement in differentiation between different subtypes carcinoma. Results There were 63 RCC as regard surgical histopathological analysis: 43 clear (ccRCC), 12 papillary (pRCC), 8 chromophobe (cbRCC). mean ADC ratio for ccRCC (0.75 ± 0.13) was significantly higher than pRCC (0.46 0.12, P < 0.001) cbRCC (0.41 0.15, 0.001). value (1.56 0.27 × 10 −3 mm 2 /s) (0.96 0.25 /s, (0.89 0.29 SII (1.49 0.04) (0.93 0.01, (1.01 0.16, absolute corticomedullary (196.7 81.6) greater (177.8 77.7, (164.3 84.6, Conclusion Our demonstrated multiparametric able afford some features such ratio, SII, which can be used accurately distinguish

Subtypes of renal cell carcinoma: MRI and pathological features.
Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is the most common malignant tumor involving the kidney. Determining the subtypes of renal cell carcinoma is among the major goals of preoperative radiological work-up. Among all modalities, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has several advantages, such as inherent soft tissue contrast, detection of lipid and blood products, and excellent sensitivity to detect small am...
متن کاملDifferentiation of renal cell carcinoma subtypes by multislice computerized tomography.
PURPOSE We differentiated renal cell carcinoma subtypes using multislice computerized tomography (CT). MATERIALS AND METHODS We reviewed the CT images of 87 patients with renal cell carcinoma. Three subtypes of renal cell carcinoma were noted, including clear cell in 37 cases, papillary in 26 and chromophobe in 24. Biphasic CT (unenhanced, corticomedullary and excretory phases) was done in al...

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the diagnostic efficacy of transrectal ultrasonography (US) bi¬opsy with imaging fusion using multiparametric (mp) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in patients with suspicion of prostate cancer (PCa), with an emphasis on clini¬cally significant tumors according to histological criteria. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 189 consecutive US/MRI fusion biopsies were per¬form...
متن کاملWhole lesion quantitative CT evaluation of renal cell carcinoma: differentiation of clear cell from papillary renal cell carcinoma
PURPOSE Clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) is the most common subtype of renal cell cancer (RCC), followed by papillary RCC (pRCC). It is important to distinguish these two subtypes because of prognostic differences and possible changes in management, especially in cases undergoing active surveillance. The purpose of our study is to evaluate the use of voxel-based whole-lesion (WL) enhance...
متن کاملCT/MRI in staging renal cell carcinoma
Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is the eighth most common malignancy. It accounts for approximately 3% of newly diagnosed cancers and has been reported to occur in 11 out of 100 000 individuals. The incidence of RCC has increased by 40% in the USA from 1974 to 1990. There appears to be a true increase in the incidence of RCC over and above that attributable to the increased number detected by abdomi...
